Then fill in the form giving the style, colour, size and amount, then mail it to us with your payment. Also, you can e-mail us your order, then follow it with your payment in the mail. This allows us to start your order, and expedite your order as soon as your payment is recieved. Remember that if you need your jigs in a hurry, or by the weekend, which is a common request, although we try our best we cannot always accomodate this. If there are orders in front of yours, it is unfair to ask us to slip you in before them and make them wait longer, would you like that done to you? Always try to order ahead to give us ample time to complete your order. How do I send my money? We accept cash (for those who pick up their orders from us) check or money order made payable to L. ANDERSON. We have no plans as yet to accept credit cards. How do I know when my order will be shipped? We generally take 3-4 days to process an order depending on the size . (sometimes more, sometimes less) Unfortunately we couldn't keep up with the status page we had, so if you are at all concerned or have any worries please e-mail us. Can I order one of each jig? Sure you can! We usually advise against it though. Have you ever had a jig in a certain colour or style that seems like the only one that will work for you that particular day, then loose it to a tree, or have a fish take off with it after spooling you? That is just advice from us though, the decision is totally up to you. We try to satisfy all our customers needs, and will always work closely with them to make sure they are ordering what they need/want , and give as much help as we possibly can. Is there a store where I can buy Silent Approach Jigs? We have had plenty of offers, but prefer not to supply stores. We custom tie each order to each customers request, and thats the way we would like it to stay. One order is usually quite different from the next, so we don't have spare jigs sitting around for sale. I have an idea for a jig I want. How do I go about getting it made? We work closely with our customers to design exactly what they are looking for. If you live within driving distance of us, we will invite you to visit, and will discuss in great detail what you are looking for , then will proceed to create your ultimate jig. Otherwise we will work with our customers through e-mails or over the phone. The only limit is your imagination! What materials do you use for your jigs? Currently we use a great variety of quality materials. Marabou, Schlappen, Saddle Hackle, Rabbit, Guinea Hackle, Chenilles are just a few. We also use other materials to create good looking Coho flies, and replica fly fishing flies on a jig. All top quality materials. What hook do you use on your jigs? We use EC 630 with the O'Shaunessy bend. These are bronze, forged steel hooks which have been tested vigorously by our feild testers, and have been found to hold up very well, catching numerous fish, even the tiny 1/32nd oz jigs. Check out the fish here caught on our jigs. If you have special requests for a different sized hook for your jigs, usually we can accomodate that request with no extra charge. Do you, or can you use Gamakatsu or Owner hooks on your jigs? No, both have a round bend and are thinner in wire diameter than the EC 630's, and bend out a lot easier. We have found that Gamakatsu rust far to easily, and cannot be resharpened, and neither can the Owner's cutting point hook. The O'Shaunessy bend on the EC 630 hooks actually works simular to a wedge once in the fish's mouth. Even barbless, they hook and hold. What are the weights of your jigs, and what are they made of ? We have 1/4 oz, 1/8 oz, 1/16 th oz, and 1/32nd oz. All of our jigs are made using lead, mainly because lead will give you the correct weight of the jig, unlike other methods like brass beads for example, which may be the same size as a lead weight, but will in fact usually weigh much less. Example: A 1/4oz lead jig weighs 1/4oz, however, if you are using a brass bead the same diameter as a 1/4 oz lead head, the brass bead will only weigh just a fraction over 1/8th of an ounce.(Source: a scale used to weigh feathers) Using lead jigs also means that you don't have to carry around, and fiddle with extra tackle on the river bank. One of our most common complaints from our customers that are trying our products out for the first time is that jigs that are tied with brass bead heads that they have purchased in stores or other jig companies have commonly had the pin come off and have lost the head of the jig rendering it useless. This will never happen to a Silent Approach Jig! Why do you use lead headed jigs? We find the lead head is more accurate in weight, plus it can be powder painted to any color the customer wishes to match the materials, plus there is no chance of the head coming off as there is with other types of tied on heads. When we paint our jigheads with industrial strength powder paint, and bake them at high temperatures, this prevents the paint chipping off. |
